This is a difficult subject to write about and I trust people reading this will read it with an open mind.
There are definitely aspects of this job that are not pleasant and the worst has to be repossessions. Unfortunately that is what we had to do today. We accept that there are instances when there is no alternative such as when a property is on loan and being abused as we see a lot.
It is good to note however, that where repossessions by the money lenders i.e. banks used to be very common, these have gone down substantially over the past few years.
Although we do not like to do this sort of job really, we will undertake them for a variety of agencies and private individuals providing all the “correct paperwork” is in order and the actions are “legally undertaken”. We up-hold the right of every party involved and will not just assist in turning out a family just because an owner or money lender say so.
Todays job was supposed to be a complete repossession due to unpaid rent and the property not being kept in good condition. However, when we arrived we found that the tenants had already left and the property was open so this made our job far easier. We still had to change the euro cylinders in the two Upvc doors and due to damage this was not as easy as it should have been. We changed the cylinders and then found that the mechanism in one door had been damaged but still locked, just which meant we struggled to lock it off. Eventually, we managed to secure the property but advised the owners to change the multipoint locking mechanism when they undertake their cleaning and repairs.
