Home now after an absolutely fantastic week in Rome. It was our first holiday in some years & we were eager to pack in as much as we could. From visiting all the main attractions during the day and then again at night we missed nothing. The weather was great, dry, sunny and a fairly warm in the mid 20`s degrees but not quite suntan weather but definitely “No coats required”.
I dread to think how many miles we yomped, but we didn’t stop from early after breakfast till late at night. For the majority we walked but a few times we had used the metro and the bus system, both of which are very efficient. This is not our first visit to Rome, but this time we went on some organised tours that we hadn’t done before and it was well worth the money.
The highlights of the holiday “for me anyway” were the Roman Forum, Palentine, Colosseum and St Peters Basilica. This time we went right to the top of the main dome in St Peters Basilica and it is definitely worth the 550 stairs climb & we highly recommended this experience!
But now it is back to the normal day to day of a Locksmith. It has been a slow week, but at least it has allowed us time to catch up and clear a back log of work left due to the weather. Whilst away, we left everything and everyone in the capable hands of Jenna who coped well. In the weeks to come, we hope to undergo some training near London and look to expand the business in a complete new direction.
