Today has been busy despite the fact it is a Saturday.

We spent most of this morning in Sunny St Agnes checking the locks on all the doors and windows, plus the general security for a holiday let property for our customer – Pure Cornwall.

We are more than happy to undertake security checks for anyone whether you are currently an Owl Locksmiths and Security client or not, as we believe everyone should be safe and secure in their own castle. With many properties being rented out through the summer to visitors, we spend a fair bit of our time checking, adjusting, repairing and upgrading locks of all types on doors and windows everywhere.

We appreciate that many people work 9-5 Monday to Friday and this might mean that it is difficult to get the time during standard hours to stay at home while we check your property, we also realise that for the holiday rental market our visits need to correspond where possible during the change over period so we generally allocate one Saturday morning per month to attend such requests.

During these visits, we will check anything specific our clients wish us to check but we will also check all locks for security, function and legality (to insurance requirements).

Should we find anything that we feel needs to be bought to the clients notice, this will be done at the time, if the check is on behalf of a rental agency, then everything will be laid out in black and white so that they have everything to keep on file or present to the owners if that is what needs to be done.

With the fact that it is estimated that around 78% of properties in Cornwall fall below the advised security level, we are out most weekends and undertaking work based upon these checks a couple of days per week.

It must be noted that these visits are normally free, but we will not undertake any type of alteration, repair or other form of work unless requested before our visit and as such this work would be charged at the rate of that time.
