It is nice to get a different type of job once in a while and recently we had just that.
Although we are not auto locksmiths, we can undertake certain tasks on vehicles. For many vehicles whether standard domestic or commercial, we are often able to gain emergency entry regardless of the reason the owner is locked out.
Unfortunately we cannot cut vehicle keys or program fobs and for this we generally send you to another local outlet.
In the case, most commonly commercial vehicles, where they are fitted with additional high security locks we often carry out emergency entry and if as in this case where we ended up drilling the lock, we can get replacements normally on the original key code.
In this case, the customer had a commercial van with slam locks fitted and unfortunately literally slammed the door with the keys left in the back of the vehicle and no spare key available.
We were not able to pick open the lock and had to drill the cylinder out. Because we do not hold this sort of lock in stock and it was “Typically” a Sunday so no chance of getting parts the old lock had to stay in the door.
We arranged for the replacement lock and an additional key to be dispatched the following day and as soon as the van was back from its rounds we turned up to get it fitted.
Because the lock was keyed to the original code, the original keys fitted the lock and it was also still keyed the sane as the other locks fitted.
Not a bad result all round and another happy customer.
