On the 29th February we were contracted by Smiths Gore to board-up a vacant property in Lelant, St Ives. Unfortunately the property was on the market but without a buyer currently and unfortunately it had been targeted by vandals, whether just kids or adults no one knew. We were tasked to board-up the ground floor which consisted of 3 main entry/exit doors and 6 windows.
All the windows were of a large construction so we took 4 sheets of standard board which was just enough. Lucky as we had not seen the property prior to arriving to carry out the job. By the time we arrived it was dark but head torches were on and we set to work. The windows were fairly large and together with the amount of them we were lucky we had enough materials. It took just three hours with two of us on the job. Not bad considering . The following morning we went back to check we had not missed anything or left anything behind. Lets hope that this property sells soon as it is highly likely that it will fall foul yet again before long.
